German-Namibian artist Max Siedentopf has installed an art exhibit somewhere in the vastness of the Namib desert in Africa for “the most loyal of Toto fans [to] find.” The installation features six speakers positioned upon small, white podiums that are all connected to an MP3 player with a single track on it: “Africa” by Toto. Titled “Toto Forever,” the exhibit has been placed in an unknown location in the Namib desert, which is the world’s oldest desert, with an approximate age of 55 million years. Put on loop and powered by the rays of the sun, Siedentopf hopes that the wildly popular song will keep on playing for “eternity.” “Even though ‘Africa’ by Toto was released 1982 it is still very much present in today’s pop culture and frequently used for memes and even entire Reddit pages are dedicated to the song. I was very intrigued by this and wanted to pay the song the ultimate homage and physically exhibit ‘Africa’ in Africa,” Siedentopf told CNN. Copyright(c) 2019 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
