Ariana Grande fans created the hashtag #BOYCOTT7RINGS on Twitter to get another track on her new album, thank u, next, to reach the top of the charts. Two songs from the album – the titular single, “thank u, next”, and “7 Rings” are already No. 1 hits on streaming charts. Now the fans are determined to promote “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored,” which was released last week, by boycotting “7 Rings.” Responding to one of her fans’ call to promote the third single, Grande tweeted, “y’all are so insane and funny and i love u. nothings funnier than ‘boycott seven rings’….. i can’t lmao. whatever’s meant to be will be, babies i ain’t goin nowhere.” “7 Rings” has remained on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a second week. “thank u, next” debuted at No.1 on the chart dated November 17 and had a long streak of seven weeks on top.
