Prince’s estate has opened a new official Twitter account to celebrate and honor the musician’s life and legacy. The account of the late artist, who passed away in April 2016 at the age of 57, debuted on Thursday, February 14, on the platform with the handle @Prince. Prince died of an accidental fentanyl overdose at his Paisley Park recording studio and home in Chanhassen, Minnesota. About six tweets have been posted so far on the new handle, which include classic quotes from the musician. “I’m a musician. That’s what I do. And I also am music,” a quote by Prince is the first post. “Few artists have influenced the sound and trajectory of popular music more distinctly, or touched quite so many people with their talent,” former U.S. President Barack Obama is quoted as saying about Prince in one post. Another post is “I wasn’t being deliberately provocative. I was being deliberately me.” In related news, Prince’s estate is currently working on a musical based on his music, which is currently in the early stages of development.
