Controversial R&B singer R. Kelly announced an international tour on Twitter on Tuesday but later deleted the tweet. Kelly, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by numerous women, did not reveal any further details about the supposed tour in Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. “See y’all soon” the post said, accompanied by a picture of Kelly and the declaration “The King of R&B.” The tweet received severe backlash on the social media and fans were urged not to buy tickets. Since the broadcast of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly, several artists have severed their ties with Kelly and have apologized for their collaborations with him, including A-listers like Lady Gaga, Chance the Rapper, and Celine Dion. Sony split with Kelly just two weeks after the broadcast of the six-part documentary series, which raised allegations of sexual misconduct that have been levied against the singer for years.
