Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath has revealed that he is going deaf after years of touring. “I’m deaf now. I cannot hear anymore,” McGrath admitted after struggling to hear a question during an interview with Daily Mail TV. “It’s years and years of being on the road and being two feet in front of symbols and drums. So high frequencies I can’t hear anymore,” he added. “I’ll be listening to people and they’ll tell me their names and I can’t hear anymore. It’s scary because my job is hearing.” The 50-year-old revealed that he is struggling to follow doctors’ advice by using hearing aids to protect his organs. McGrath said he is working with specialists to stop the progression of the condition. “Fortunately for the new generation, they have in-ears,” he continued. “I’m dumb enough not to use them though. I still need the sight, sounds and smells of a concert and that includes the auditory part, but unfortunately, mine’s going.” Sugar Ray rose to fame in the 90s for their hits including “Someday,” “Every Morning,” and “Fly.” Copyright(c) 2019 RTTNews.com.
