The Council of Fashion Designers of America has named Jennifer Lopez as its 2019 Fashion Icon. The CFDA Board of Directors said it is giving Lopez the award for her longstanding and global impact on fashion. “Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power,” CFDA Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg said. “Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements.” The actress, singer, dancer, and producer will be presented this year’s award at the 2019 CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony at the Brooklyn Museum in New York on June 3. Lopez recently released her new single, “Medicine,” featuring French Montana and is currently filming Hustlers.
