In an extended caption to an Instagram post on her 31st birthday, Adele opened up about the past year and her recent split with Simon Konecki. The pair, who got hitched in a secret ceremony in 2016, decided to part ways less than one month ago. “30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all,” wrote the now 31-year-old singer-songwriter. “I’ve changed drastically in the last couple years and I’m still changing and that’s okay. 31 is going to be a big ol’ year and I’m going to spend it all on myself. For the first time in a decade I’m ready to feel the world around me and look up for once,” she continued in the caption of a series of black-and-white pictures of herself. Adele ended the long post with “Bunch of f-ing savages, 30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you. Chin up eh,” which some have taken as a suggestion she plans to release new music soon.
