Summer is in session! Take a trip to your local library branch and join in on the summer fun. Local libraries have something for everyone, regardless of age, ability, and level of education. So, take advantage of what your community offers!

Here are various activities taking place at the Salt Lake City Library Monday, June 10th through Friday, June 16th!

Monday, June 10th

  • Parker Solar Probe 
    Age: Kids
    Location: Sweet Branch
    Time: 10:30 AM-12:30 PM
    Learn about the Sun with the NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassadors! There will be three different activities that include prizes!
  • Space Camp
    Age: 7-13
    Location: Main Library
    Time: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM
    Join Space Camp Mon-Thurs for some space adventure! Discover all the magnificent things about the galaxy!
  • Arts and Crafts for Adults 
    Age: Adults and Seniors
    Location: Main Library
    Time: 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
    Drop on by and spend time making a craft!
  • Mondays are Murder 
    Age: Adults and Seniors
    Location: Day-Riverside Branch
    Time: 7:00-8:30 PM
    Join this monthly book discussion group to fulfill all of your true crime needs! Uncover facts about crimes you already knew about and get hooked on discovering stories.

Tuesday, June 11th

  • Yoga Storytime and Songs
    Age: Kids and Family
    Location: Main Library
    Time: 11:00 AM-1:00 PM
    This class incorporates fitness, music, and storytelling all into one interactive class! Stretch out your bodies and mind while embarking on an adventure.
  • Teen Craft
    Age: 11-17 only
    Location: Anderson-Foothill Branch
    Time: 12:00 PM-1:00 PM
    Give Barbies a makeover…into Zombies… Something your teen is not going to want to miss.
  • Virtual Reality
    Age: Family
    Location: Chapman Branch
    Time: 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
    Take your mind for a little trip! Virtual reality is a space where get creative, take out your anger, and interact with objects around you!
  • Father’s Day Card Making 
    Age: Everyone of all ages!
    Location: Day-Riverside Branch
    Time: 4:00 PM-5:30 PM
    Celebrate Father’s Day with a card made with love! All supplies will be provided.

Wednesday, June 12th 

  • Drum Bus 
    Age: Kids, Tweens, and Family
    Location: Day-Riverside
    Time: 12:00 PM-1:00 PM
    Drum circle on wheels! Drums and instruction will be provided. Come jam out!
  • Kidding Around Yoga
    Age: Kids
    Location: Marmalade Branch
    Time: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM
    Get your kiddo moving with music, games, and other activities!
  • Robotics Series 
    Age: Tweens
    Location: Main Library
    Time: 4;00 PM-5:00 PM
    Learn all about robots! If you’d like to attend the whole series, make sure to register online!
  • Concerts by the Creek
    Age: Everyone!
    Location: Anderson-Foothill Branch
    Time: 7:00 PM-7:45 PM
    Listen to Country, Folk, and Bluegrass with the whole family! If you’re really feeling the music, get up and start busting a move!

Thursday, June 13th 

  • Yarn Social 
    Age: Teens, Adults, and Seniors
    Location: Day-Riverside Branch
    Time: 10:00 AM-12:00 PM
    Become knit tight with fellow yarn crafters! Bring your own supplies, or use the supplies offered by the library.
  • Make Your Own Moon Sand 
    Age: Kids and Tweens
    Location: Day-Riverside
    Time: 11:00 AM-12:00 PM
    Learn about the moon and its relationship with the Earth! Your kids will have something to keep them easily entertained for at least 2 hours!
  • Zumba Kids 
    Age: 5 and up
    Location: Main Library

    Get your kids moving with kid-friendly dance routines!
  • Magic with Paul Brewer
    Age: Kids
    Location: Chapman Branch
    Time: 3:00 PM-4:00 PM
    Enjoy a magic show with a magician who has been in the business for 30 years!

Friday, June 14th 

  • Rooftop Yoga
    Age: Tweens, Teens, Adults, and Seniors
    Location: Main Library
    Time: 7:00 AM-8:00 AM
    All ages and all experience levels are welcome to stretch it out on the roof with Salt Lake Power Yoga. Free and open to the community! Must register and get there early to guarantee a spot.
  • Tween Book Club
    Age: Tweens and Teens
    Location: Day-Riverside Branch
    Time: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM
    Book club meets bi-monthly to talk about great young adult read. Activities and snacks will be provided.
  • Escape Room
    Age: Tweens and Teens
    Location: Marmalade Branch
    Time: 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
    Work together to attempt to break out of this space themed escape room!
  • Trivia Night at the Leonardo 
    Age: Teens, Adults, and Seniors
    Location: The Leonardo Museum
    Time: 7:00 PM-9:00 PM
    Test your brain, learn new fun facts, and hang out with friends! Trivia night happens the second Friday of each month.

Saturday, June 15th

  • Gardening Workshop 
    Age: Teens, Adults, Seniors
    Location: Day-Riverside Branch
    Time: 10:30 AM-12:00 PM
    Learn how to plant, grow, and nourish your own garlic!
  • 3D Printing Club
    Age: Tweens, Teens, and Family
    Location: Marmalade Branch
    Time: 11:00 AM-12:00 PM
    Learn all about 3D printing through hands-on experience! After every workshop, you’ll be able to take home your own 3D craft.
  • SLC Ballet 
    Age: Everyone!
    Location: Main Library
    Time: 2:00 PM-3:00 PM
    The SLC Ballet will perform excerpts from The Sleeping Beauty! Bring the kids to inspire them, take yourself on a date the ballet, or enjoy the show with a pal.
  • Paint Along: The Starry Night
    Age: Adults
    Location: Sweet Branch
    Time: 2:00 PM-4:30 PM
    Always wanted to take a wack at Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night? Finally, start painting with a step by step tutorial at the library!
