Salt Lake City Public Library Events 7/8-7

During the hot summer days, the public library has your best interest at heart. They’re providing a nice, air-conditioned space, that has mounds of activities for people of all ages!

And let’s not forget libraries have BOOKS! SO MANY BOOKS! Such a cool place to be this time of year. Keep yourself and those around you entertained–go check out what your local library has to offer!

 

Monday, July 8th

  • Zumba Kids 
    Age: 5 & up
    Time: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM
    Location: Marmalade Branch
    Start the week off on the right foot! Come bring your kids to Zumba. Get them movin’ and groovin’ while playing games!
  • DYAD Reading
    Age: 7-10
    Time: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM
    Location: Anderson-Foothill Branch
    DYAD is a program to help struggling readers improve their skills! They’ll be able to pick
    a fun book while working with an advanced reader.
  • Arts and Crafts for Adults 
    Age: Adults & Seniors

    Location: Main Library
    Pop on by and get your creative juices flowing! Start a new project or work on a current one. Come hang out, chat, and make some crafts!
  • Password Management and Authentication 
    Age: Teens, adults & seniors

    With technology advancing, it’s important to know the steps you can take to protect your accounts and identity. The library is hooking you up with all the need to know tricks for free!

Tuesday, July, 9th

  • Buzz on Bees

    Get up close and personal with our fuzzy friends! Nature in the City is coming to the library to teach kids all about bees through an interactive and environment.
  • Music and Movement
    Age: Preschoolers
    Time: 2:00 PM-3:00 PM
    Location: Glendale Branch
    Preschoolers will experience the joy of jazz music during this class! Kiddos will play with instruments, practice their rhythm, and explore their musical talents. Taught by an experienced music educator!
  • Large Scale RPG

    What if you became the game? Put yourself inside the game to test your skills with some Live Action Role Playing!
  • Dungeons and Dragons for Beginners

    Experience another world. Escape from reality. D&D will teach you so much more than how to have fun. Learn how to play D&D with other beginners!

Wednesday, July 10th

  • Earth Rocks! With Tracey Aviary

    The coolest thing about rocks is that they’re everywhere you look! Nature in the City is back to take kids on a journey to find rocks and learn about them, too.
  • Alien World 
    Age: Family

    The while alien family can create funky outer space themed projects! Finally, the Jetsons is becoming real life!
  • Cricut Workshop–Coaster Tiles
    Age: Kids, tweens, teens, adults & seniors

    Everyone loves a good coaster! Come learn how to use a Cricut to feed all your crafty needs.
  • Concert by the Creek

    Libraries are a great resource for local musicians to gain recognition! Bring a few snacks, a blanket or two, and come listen to some local Blue Grass music!

  • DIY Galaxy Slime

  • Stop-Motion-Animation Space Film

  • Town Hall Series

Friday, July 12th

  • Rooftop Yoga
