No AirPod Gets Left Behind
By Saige Miller on July 11, 2019
The number one worry everyone has about their AirPods is losing them. It’s almost like you can’t enjoy your wireless headphones because you’re too busy worrying about losing them.
Well, AirPod owners worse nightmare came true for Ashley Mayer. Ashley was just minding her own business, waiting for the subway when suddenly one AirPod fell out of her ear and onto the edge of the subway tracks!
The AirPod fell out of my ear several feet away from the edge of the subway platform, but I’ve never seen anything more inevitable. RIP little buddy. Thanks for all the podcasts.

How you must be feeling reading that:
A devastating loss.
While losing an AirPod is tragic, Ashley does have something to be proud of. She didn’t become the first AirPod-related subway death.
While I’m understandably shattered, I’m proud of myself for:
1) Not lunging after it and becoming the first ever AirPod-related subway death.
2) Still going to the gym against all odds and without entertainment!!!

AND she went to the gym without her podcast buddies. Truly inspirational.
But wait… it gets juicier.
Ashley went back the next day and HER AIRPOD WAS STILL THERE! INCREDIBLE. A CHRISTMAS MARICLE!
Omg you guys he’s still down there 💔
(I had asked to have him rescued yesterday but it was going to take two hours and I had to be present) pic.twitter.com/4FeRUQy6QH

The little buddy laid perfectly still on a New York City subway track, waiting to be recused by its owner. Ashley went above and beyond to save her $160 Q-Tip.
She marched to her nearest bodega (she’s in New York, remember) and bought the necessary tools you need to save a life.
Game on.

While Ashley did not document her heroic act, she did provide a result.
He’s filthy but he’s mine (again)!

HOW GLORIOUS is it to have loved something you’d never thought you’d love again.
Covered in dirt, Ashley took her lone AirPod home, charged it, disinfected the heck out of it, and (hopefully) resumed much more podcast listening.
I dedicate this selfie to the germaphobes. (You may be onto something, guess we’ll see!)
Verdict: he’s working wonderfully 👌🏼🎵 pic.twitter.com/vCCMdQpypd
