Taco Tuesday is, perhaps, the most celebrated unofficial holiday in the nation. Before Tuesday, there is spicy chicken nugget Monday.

Due to popular request, Wendy’s is bringing back its spicy chicken nuggets.

It is a return that was three months in the making.

Back in May, Wendy’s offered its devotees the opportunity to purchase them if Wendy’s tweet was liked at least two million times.

People liked the tweet 2.2 million times.

Wendy’s originally announced that the nuggets would be back on Aug. 19.

The date was moved up to Aug 12.

Wendy’s pulled the spicy chicken nuggets back in 2017.

The year 2017 was also the year that a young man asked for free chicken nuggets.

Wendy’s offered him a deal: Get 18 million retweets and he can have them free for a year.

When his tweet his 3.42 million retweets it officially became the most shared tweet on Twitter.

Actor Bradley Cooper was the previous record holder. He took a multi-celebrity selfie during the Oscars in 2014.

Ellen Degeneres, Bradley Cooper and company took the iconic selfie spontaneously. People shared the tweet 2.3 million times.

Wendy’s recognized the achievement by providing the young man with a gift card that could be redeemed for chicken nuggets for one year. Wendy’s also made a $100,000 donation in his name to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

Getting back the spicy chicken nuggets, Wendy’s says the 4 for $4 deal will apply to the comeback nuggets.
