Don’t worry! Walk the Moon didn’t lose Eli Maiman! He is still in the band. The guitarist is taking a step back from music to focus on learning the ropes of parenthood.

Maiman’s wife Alex is 38 weeks pregnant, and in his words, “baby boy could show up at any time.” He admits in a tender Instagram post, “it would break my heart to miss the birth of my son, and I simply can’t risk it.”

Thankfully, Mainman is only missing three upcoming shows: Las Vegas, Sonoma, and El Dorado. Essentially, the new father is granting himself maternity leave, and he sure does deserve it!

Walk the Moon already has a replacement guitarist for the time being! Lachlan West, an Australian musician, and producer will be seen shredding on stage. West is the drummer of indie rock band The Griswolds.
