Elton John says that in 2017 he underwent surgery due to cancer.

John writes, “Everything was back to normal. Until I nearly died.”

Complications from cancer surgery led to a terrible diagnosis.

He says his doctors described him as being, “24 hours from death.”

This revelation comes from John’s new memoir, “Me.”

This information from the memoir is according to the Daily Mail.

A rare post-surgery complication led to his suffering from leaking lymph nodes.

He writes that in the hospital he prayed, “Please don’t let me die – please let me see my kids again.”

According the memoir, he may have died had he not cut short a South American tour in 2017 to focus on his health.

The complication led to hospitalization for eleven days.

His recovery was not complete.

John writes that he spent “seven weeks recuperating, learning to walk again.”

The memoir, Me: Elton John Official Autobiography” will be published on October 15.
