Paulina Porizkova cared for her estranged husband, Ric Ocasek, during his last days.
But he didn’t include her in his will.
She is opening up about when she knew and how she feel about it.
The short story: She is being very, very, classy about it.
According to Page Six, Ocasek’s will left out his wife due to their estrangement.
“I have made no provision for my wife Paulina Porizkova … as we are in the process of divorcing … Even if I should die before our divorce is final … Paulina is not entitled to any elective share … because she has abandoned me.” the will states.
The will was signed three weeks before his death.
In an Instagram post, Porizkova shares that she knew about the will soon after Ocasek’s death.
“I’ve known about the will since the day after Ric passed,” Porizkova wrote. “All you have heard from me since – is in spite of that.”
And what has she said since she knew that will stated?
She has expressed gratitude for the outreach from those who knew Ocasek.
“We appreciate the great outpouring of love. We, his family and friends, are completely and utterly devastated by his untimely and unexpected death,” Porizkova has said.
In October, she reflected on her life with Ocasek.
“[W]hen he decided to turn his focus on you, it was as if the sun came out. His smile and his gaze warmed you and made you feel like the most special person in the world.”
There has been no bitterness or known efforts to wrest control of the late Ocasek’s estate by Porizkova.
Truly classy.
Ocasek died of naturally of heart disease, with a lung disease as a contributing factor.
