Alex Trebek’s cancer diagnosis came as terrible news to many people. Trebek has been the host of Jeopardy! for a generation.

His wife, Jean Trebek, is opening up about how her life has changed since the diagnosis.

Jean says a combination of sound and meditation have helped her stay grounded.

She tells SurvivorNet, a network for cancer survivors and their families, how she helps her husband.

“It comes from a place of love, because I want to uplift him … and when I keep my own self buoyed and enjoying my life, I can actually share that with him. He can look at me and have a sense of ‘life is beautiful; my wife is doing something good,” Jean says.

Remaining positive is a strength for her at this time, she says.

“Just ask the universe, ‘What’s the next step for me?’ The universe will always respond. I am absolutely sure that we live in a benevolent universe that is always conspiring for our highest and greatest good,” Jean Trebek adds.
