With a new year comes new resolutions for many. As we enter the new decade, copious goals are set to improve ourselves into the 2020 version of who we want to become. Now, setting versus actually completing these aspirations are two entirely different concepts. But, trying counts too, right?

Whether they are related to personal growth, finances, or fitness we all have something we are working towards. A survey was conducted through YouGov to study American’s resolutions.

Administered in December 2019, the study found nearly three in 10 Americans said that they plan to make New Year’s resolutions for 2020. The number one resolution comes in as no surprise to exercise more. Here are the rest of the results:

  1. Exercise more
  2. Saving money
  3. Eat more healthily
  4. Lose weight
  5. Reduce stress
  6. Get more sleep
  7. Stick to a budget
  8. Focus on my spiritual growth
  9. Travel more
  10. Learn a new skill

Some Americans reported their goals for 2020 are identical to those they chose in 2019. YouGov reported two-thirds (64%) say that some of their new resolutions are repeats of their old ones, but they also have new resolutions this year. Well, as the saying goes, if at first, you don’t succeed, try, try again.

Happy New Year!
