Christina Aguilera brings out her inner warrior through her new song, recorded for the upcoming “Mulan” live-action movie.

Aguilera released the song Friday, and it’s a brand-new battle cry that is fit for any warrior. The song is written from the perspective of Mulan’s character as she gears up to take her father’s place in the Chinese army.

“All for my family, reason I’m breathing, everything to lose,” Xtina sings in the opening verse, while the chorus continues: “Should I ask myself in the water / What a warrior would do? / Tell me, underneath my armor / Am I loyal, brave, and true?”

The movie is not a musical (sorry for those looking forward to that “I’ll Make A Man Out of You” remake), but rumor has it that the movie will still feature one of its famous songs.

In addition to her new song “Loyal Brave True” Aguilera has also updated an older song of hers: “Reflection.” She originally recorded it at age 16, and it will also be featured in this movie.

In a new statement, Aguilera said, “The film Mulan and the song ‘Reflection’ coincided with getting me my first record deal. It’s amazing to come back to such an incredible movie that’s full of power and meaning, and that meaning holds the test of time: staying true to yourself, being who you are, and teaching how to be fearless. My new song, ‘Loyal Brave True,’ represents the fine balance between vulnerability and strength.”

The live-action movie is set to hit the theaters March 27, with the soundtrack debuting two days earlier on March 25.

March 27 was originally set to the be the worldwide release date, but because of concerns surrounding the coronavirus, it will be postponed in China.
