Tyra Banks is set to be the new host for “Dancing with the Star’s” TV show.

Businesswoman and supermodel

Banks, best known for her modeling career and being a successful business owner, will now add host of “Dancing with the Stars” to her resume.

Her modeling career started young as a teenager, covering top fashion magazines and eventually becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel. In addition, she has established herself as an actor and created a successful production company. That production company would go on to produce her well-known TV series “America’s Next Top Model.”

According to ABC’s news release, Banks has officially been named the new host and executive producer. Banks has been a fan of the show from the beginning. It’s exciting and an honor she explained in the news release.

“I’ve been a fan of ‘DWTS’ since its beginning … The fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances … it’s always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk,” Banks said in the news release.

Tom Bergeron announced that he would not be returning to the show on July 13, after 15 years of hosting the show. ABC and BBC Productions said the series is headed in “a new creative direction.” In a joint statement, both production companies said, “Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the Dancing with the Stars family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success.”

Beloved co-host Erin Andrews will also not be returning to the show.

Banks is excited to continue Tom’s success with the show and add her own expertise. “Tom has set a powerful stage, and I’m excited to continue the legacy and put on my executive producer and hosting hats,” she said.
