Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong has revealed his new side project, The Longshots. Armstrong has posted a series of videos on Instagram featuring a hazy black and white old school punk aesthetic with rats, scribbled out faces and a hand-scrawled band logo. A link to the band’s newly created profile says “New album Love is for Losers, coming eventually sooner or later. Probably sooner.” The Longshots join Armstrong’s other non-Green Day related groups, including Pinhead Gunpowder, Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network. Green Day is currently taking a break from music to work on a movie adaptation of their album American Idiot. “We’ve got a green light from HBO, and the script is currently going through a couple of rewrites here and there, so I’m not sure when exactly we’re going to start shooting, but it’s definitely all systems go at the moment,” Armstrong says.
