Tidal and the estate of the late artist Prince have signed an agreement to end their lengthy legal battle. The new deal will allow the streaming service to debut a new and unreleased album of the music icon’s music. The new album, due to be released in 2019, will contain previously unreleased music sourced from Prince’s legendary vast archive of Vault recordings at Paisley Park. Tidal will stream the album available for download exclusively for 14 days and will be available for download a week after its debut. “Our only goal is to share Prince’s music with his fans as he wanted,” said JAY-Z, the owner of the global music and entertainment platform. “After thoughtful and honest conversation with him, he chose Tidal as his partner for HITnRUN Phase One and HITnRUN Phase Two, and we will continue to respect and honor Prince’s enduring legacy and wishes with this new collection,” he added.
