Artists like Jackson Browne, Tom Chapin, Kurt Vile, Benjamin Booker, Tim Heidecker and Fred Armisen have teamed up for the pro-voting album, Songs for Swing Left, which aims to increase the voter turnout in the upcoming U.S midterm elections in November. Recorded at Reuben Cox’s guitar shop in Los Angeles, the 25-track album was mastered by Mike Viola and includes a short message from each artist, emphasising the utmost importance of voting. Fans who download the album will also be put in touch with volunteers of Swing Left, an organization striving to help the Democrats retake the House of Representatives, to learn how they can help the movement in their area of residence. Cox described the album as, “A fun, positive, and creative way to push back against the disappointments and anxiety engendered by the current political climate.” The album is available to be streamed or downloaded for free at https://songsforswingleft.bandcamp.com/ Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
