Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born soundtrack has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. A Start Is Born’s chart-topping debut has made Gaga the only women to have five No. 1 albums this decade. The album was released via Interscope Records on October 5. According to Billboard, the record notched up 231,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending October 11, which was the biggest week for a soundtrack in more than three-and-a-half years. Of that, 162,000 were in album sales. A Star Is Born follows the story of alcoholic country singer Maine, portrayed by Cooper, who falls in love with Ally, played by Gaga, a young waitress as well as a talented singer. The movie, which released on October 4, has received rave reviews and also has potential to be a Oscar-winning film. The film grossed $28 million in its sophomore weekend.
