Jackson Browne Set For Sing Out For Seva Event

An all-star concert will be held at the Fox Theater in Oakland on January 12 to mark the 40th anniversary of the SEVA Foundation. The concert, titled “Sing Out For Seva,” will feature Jackson Browne, Mickey Hart, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Osborne and the duo of Pura Fe and Cary Marin. In addition, some mystery “friends” are expected as special guests for the show, SEVA says. SEVA is a global nonprofit eye care organization that strives to strengthen communities by restoring sight and preventing blindness. The Berkeley-based organization claims to have helped 4 million blind people regain their sight in more than 20 countries. Pre-sale tickets will be available from Wednesday, with the password SEVA40 on the Foundation’s website. Reserved seats will cost between $75 and $160. All VIP packages include a copy of “Sing Out for Seva, 40 Years of Music for Social Change,” a limited-edition hard cover coffee table photo book documenting SEVA’s history.
