Jimmy Buffett Skewers Republicans At Florida Rally

Legendary singer Jimmy Buffett took digs at President Donald Trump and other Republicans at a Democratic campaign rally for Senator Bill Nelson and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum on Saturday in West Palm Beach, Florida. Buffett performed his hit song “Come Monday” at the “Get Out the Vote” rally with a small tweak. Buffett changed the song’s lyrics from “Come Monday” to “Come Tuesday, things will change. Come Tuesday, we’re making a change. It’s been two insane years and it’s time to really switch gears,” taking a dig at President Trump. Meanwhile, President Trump was also campaigning at Mar-a-Lago resort, Pensacola, Florida for Governor Rick Scott. Buffett also used his song “Margaritaville,” to criticize Scott for the state’s environmental problems. “Some people say that there’s a red tide to blame, but I know that it’s all Rick Scott’s fault,” he sang. For the last few months, red tide algae have killed millions of fish off the southern Florida coasts. Although it occurs naturally, some scientists say pollution makes it worse. Buffett is a longtime environmentalist, founding his charity “Save the Manatee” in 1981. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
