R. Kelly’s catalog of songs generated 4.3 million on-demand streams in the U.S. after Lifetime’s docu-series Surviving R. Kelly aired its final episode on January 5. That was a 116 percent increase from 1.9 million streams recorded on January 2, the eve of the three-day docu-series opening, according to Nielsen Music. Kelly was accused by multiple women of abuse, predatory behavior and pedophilia in the documentary series that was broadcast from January 3 to 5 on Lifetime entertainment channel. The hot documentary also boosted R. Kelly’s Wikipedia page views since Surviving R. Kelly first aired. Viewers searched 41,000 times for more information on the singer on January 4, and 36,000 times the next day.
