Demi Lovato says Justin Bieber inspired her to get sober after a near-fatal overdose in 2018.

Lovato sought out specialist help with her journey to sobriety after she was found unconscious at her Los Angeles home in July 2018. That was the incident that inspired her to get help.

But, there may have been more to the story.

During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week, Lovato shared there was someone else who inspired her to get on the right track.

Justin Bieber, who was a guest on the show with Lovato, was the one who set an example Lovato said she wanted to emulate.

Demi Lovato, who has now made a full recovery since the overdose, said it was Bieber who helped her out of the dark times.

“When I struggled last year, I know I looked at you as an inspiration because you’ve been through this and you’ve come out of the other side and I really just admire the man that you are today,” she said.

Bieber had similar experiences, turning his life around a few years ago after admitting addictions to marijuana and pills. He recently opened up about this during his recent YouTube documentary “Justin Bieber: Seasons.”

“Thank you for saying that,” Bieber said during the interview with Lovato.

In the meantime, Lovato celebrated one year of sobriety and has made a musical comeback — especially at the Grammys last month. There, she performed her single “Anyone.”

More recently, she dropped her new empowerment album “I Love Me” last week.
