Last week on Friday, April 24, the Robertson estate was victim to a drive-by shooting. Thankfully, no one was injured in the event and as of today April 27th, the suspect has been charged with the crime.

In the middle of the day, about 2:30 in the afternoon, the suspect drove by firing 8-10 shots into the estate. Shockingly, one of the shots went through the bedroom window of John Luke Roberston, Willie’s son. No one was injured, but John Luke lives at the estate with his wife, Mary Kate McEachern, and their newborn. The whole event was very upsetting as Willie explained to USA Today. “We were pretty shook up. It looks like they were just spraying bullets across my property.”

The arrest

The shooter was spotted in his car by neighbors and the vehicle was captured on a surveillance camera. Louisiana authorities moved quickly and made the arrest on the suspect.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office charged Daniel King Jr., 38, with one count of aggravated assault by a drive-by shooting. He was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center, with his bond set at $150,000. There is no information on the man’s motives.

Thankful for their safety explains Sadie Robertson

Sadie Robertson, who also lives on the property with her husband, posted to her Instagram about the nerve-wracking event. Sadie is the daughter of Willie Robertson.

“hi, yes the news is true if you’ve seen it. We had someone shoot at our property. Just wanted to say we are all okay. It shook us all up of course, but we are just so thankful everyone in our family is okay. Especially after one of the bullets flew through the window of my brothers home… The timing of where we were at the time was crazy protection because we had all just gone inside. We have been resting on Psalm 91 and each other’s gratitude for all being okay ❤️ thank you for your prayers.”
