As the Black Lives Matter movement sweeps the nation and weeks of silence on Twitter, Taylor Swift finally commented and is fully on board.

Some of her fans applaud her for using her platforms to speak out; others were less than impressed with the Pop Star. Swift tweeted about BLM and linked an article written by Barak Obama.

She commented on the article, “This article written by BarackObama is a fascinating read about changing policy at the state and local levels”.

Racial injustice has been ingrained deeply into local and state governments, and changes MUST be made there. In order for policies to change, we need to elect people who will fight against police brutality and racism of any kind. #BlackLivesMatter” Said Swift in her tweet.

Swift urged her 86.4 million followers to also remember to register and vote. “We need to fight for mail-in voting for the 2020 election. No one should have to choose between their health and having their voice heard”.

You can learn more about voting and get registered at vote.org.
