COMMUNITY

FM100.3 is always striving to be involved in community outreach programs. Our station participates and promotes various projects that specifically contribute our local listeners and neighbors in our towns and cities in Utah.

THE ROAD HOME
You know what makes a Merry Christmas? Coming together as neighbors to take care of our neighbors in need of shelter, support, and a new beginning!

INSPIRE IN UTAH
The Inspire In Utah initiative responds to the call and recommendation for changes as outlined by the Utah Women & Leadership Project’s report titled, “Women’s Equality in Utah: Why Utah Is Ranked as the Worst State, and What Can Be Done,” and the priorities identified in the Cox/Henderson One Utah Roadmap under Section 5: Equality and Opportunity.

HEALTHY MIND MATTERS
You don’t need to be a news expert to recognize the truth – that Utah is experiencing an epidemic of depression, suicide, and prescription opioid misuse. But here’’’s one other truth. All of us can learn to take positive action to help make certain these issues don’t devastate the lives of our families, friends and loved ones.

SELECT HEALTH AWARDS
SelectHealth wants to help those that help others. The Select Health Awards rewards individuals and organizations in Utah that are working to improve the health of those around them. Each year, 20 well-deserving organizations will receive $3,000 and a marketing package worth over $20,000 to further their missions.

BETTER STUDENTS FOR A BETTER UTAH
It’s called Waterford UPSTART, and kids who participate enter kindergarten reading at nearly a first-grade level no matter where they start. For fifteen minutes a day, five days a week, kids get ready for school while having fun using the adaptive software at home. Parents can follow their children’s learning through the Waterford Mentor app.

USE ONLY AS DIRECTED
An opioid is a drug commonly used to treat moderate to severe pain. Opioids work by stimulating opioid receptors in the brain which reduce pain. Opioids are used in hospitals and are sometimes prescribed by doctors to help treat more severe pain and discomfort.

THINK PINK
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. A time and a chance to give more support to breast cancer survivors, their loved ones, and those who are just beginning the fight of their lives.

KSL’S QUARTERS FOR CHRISTMAS
Every winter, hundreds of Utah children struggle to find shoes, socks or clothing to keep warm. KSL will distribute 100% of your donation to make sure Utah kids are warm and comfortable during the cold months.
